I am a big fan of affirmations and have over the years helped many people to use them including some of Adelaide’s elite professional athletes as well as some very successful business people. So, what are affirmations and how are they used? Affirmations are usually short statements or oaths of truths, written as positive statements used repetitively to produce a positive thought process. These affirmations are designed to help individual people and we understand the opinions expressed wont suit everyone. We hope these affirmations are received with the intent they were made, that is with warmth and a desire to help those who are searching for it. We hope the generalisations used do not offend anyone. And as always, we welcome your feedback, questions and suggestions. Warmest regards, Jane and Robyn

And for those of you new to using affirmations, here are some instructions. It is important to understand that affirmations work best with a few keys in place. Ensure they are in the now and not in the future. Always use either the term ‘I’ or substitute I for your own name if you prefer. Concentrate on only one or two affirmations at a time. Doing too many different ones tends to weaken the end results. Repeat the chosen affirmation as often as possible. I find it best to write it out numerous times on little cards and stick these cards anywhere you are visually regularly drawn to. Good places could be on the bathroom mirror, the fridge, the coffee machine, the car dashboard, the mobile phone, computer monitor….even better, text it to yourself so you have it in your phone to recite anytime you think of it. Now each time you view the card, read it. You can do so in your head to start with if you feel self conscious saying it out loud or are not in private. Affirmations are stronger when spoken out loud and even more effect when spoken out loud while looking at yourself in the mirror.
